Who should Advertise?
Basically, any website or blog owner who is interested in bringing in high-quality traffic- but also, based on the experiences of our sponsors and based on our own experience, it can be anyone who is:
a) unhappy with Cost-per-Click (CPC)/Google AdWords due to the fact that their business niche is too small (check our blog post)
b) have limited budget for CPC or Search Engine Optimization (SEO) since their business niche either too expensive or too crowded
c) would like to advertise in emerging markets like Latin America, South and Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe or Southern Africa (over 55% traffic comes from visitors from those emerging Internet powerhouses)
d) willing to supplement their traditional advertising channels with specific targeted audience (see our visitor’s demographic profiles evaluated by Quantcast and Alexa)
e) love freebies - yes, you could advertise on our site for free under certain conditions.
Why Advertise?
We’ve always boasted that we are a long-tail advertising platform for advertisers who would like to benefit from odd 3-, 4- and 5-word keyphrase serches, and that our very long RadarFarms HitTail Profile; with 634,893 unique keywords that our vistors have used at search to find our site since October, 2006 - is ultimate proof of that.
However, since March 2009, when Google implemented the Vince update; our site has increasingly started receiving higher Search Engine Ranking positions for generic “head” 1- and 2-word keyphrases. It didn’t hurt that we’ve been around for over 3 years and that Google treats RadarFarms.com as a trusted Web source.
Our advertisers (direct sponsors, as well as third party advertisers) benefit from the best of two worlds - mainstream “head” searchers looking for more generic terms and “long tailers” who already know what they are looking for and, as a rule, who convert best.
For instance, for last six months the clickthrough rate for 3rd party banners located above the fold is 3.0%, while their conversion rate by clicks was 1,7%. The banners located below the fold had 1.4% clickthrough rate and their conversion rate by clicks was 3.6%.
The North American conversion rate for contextual Amazon widgets, located below the fold, was 1.7%. All these numbers are better than the advertising industry averages.
Our direct sponsors, who’ve placed their ads above the fold, enjoyed even higher high clickthrough rates up to 20%.
The bottom line is that your sales, promotional, or brand awareness campaigns could greatly benefit from our highly focused intelligent audience and low advertising costs.
What and Where to Advertise?
You could place banner ads of various sizes per the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) standards for Internet advertising, as well as text links - see our terms and prices at our Advertising Rate Card page.
If you are willing to pay for your ad(s), you could sponsor not just an individual Radar but also Categories, Groups or the whole site.
For instance, if you sponsor Real Estate Radars group and you are a Real Estate agency working in a booming emerging real estate markets, then your banner or text link will be posted at over 50 radar pages representing the real estate hotbeds in Central America and Eastern America - as well as at Real Estate Radars group page. This way, your banner or text link will be exposed to over 2,000 unique visitors a month who are looking for Real Estate properties in geographic areas that you represent. It could only cost as little as $2 a month. Not a bad deal at all!
How to Advertise?
We’ve tried our best to make it as simple and as convenient for you as possible to advertise. Basically, you could choose one of the three following options:
OPTION #1. If you like freebies, you could place your free text ad link at Radar that you will have created by following steps below:
Sign Up>Create>Publish>Advertise
We place your ad link on the Radar page header instead of AdSense ads, but we will keep serving the other third party ads.
OPTION #2. If you wouldn’t like to see somebody else’s ads on the Radar you created, we are willing to give you the 90-days free trial to test run your ad (banner or text link) and we will turn off all the 3rd party ads (with an exception of in-text ad links served by Kontera) for this period of time. In order to create a Radar and start the free trial, follow the steps below:

Upon the 90-days period expiry, we will send you a reminder ask you to pay for your radar within 5 business days using our Ad Purchase Page.
If you wouldn’t like to pay for your ad after the free trial, we will keep your ad in the slot where it would have initially been placed but turn back on the 3rd part ads (see OPTION #1).
